Life is an adventure… get out there and make memories

Life is tough… but so are you

Life is grand…  make the most it

Life is sweet… so enjoy it

Life is beautiful… and so are you

life is beautiful

I received the ‘Life is Beautiful’ shirt to launch Cents of Styles new amazing ‘Life is’ line. Originally, I was going to write about noticing the beauty that is around us, but doing a photo shoot with my husband, I learned something really important about myself.

I do NOT like having my pictures taken. I am self-conscious of my body and how I look in pictures. I kept telling him to make sure my fat rolls don’t show and cringed when I saw my healthy thighs or large arms.

My husband kept telling me to not worry, that I was beautiful and should embrace it. Still I worried and fretted over getting the perfect shot to show off this new tshirt and not to show too much of my ‘flaws’.

After viewing the pictures and seeing they came out better than I thought, I realized that I am my own worst critic. The tshirt says ‘life is beautiful’ and I need to remind myself that there is beauty in everything, including myself. It’s so easy for me to recognize the beauty in nature, in my children, in my husband, in people around me, but I can’t always accept what is important, that I am beautiful too. Why is that so hard?

Too often, I find myself behind the camera lens shooting pictures of everyone else in the family and not including myself in these memories. Why do I that? Because my hair is not right, I’m not wearing makeup or I don’t feel photogenic. I need to embrace the beauty in everything and everyone and not allow my insecurities to deprive my family of these precious memories. I need to be in the pictures and create lasting photos for my family to be shared and cherished for years to come.

This experience has really made me stop and think about how I view myself. I’m so grateful for this and plan to make myself get in the pictures and not worry about the little things and to let my confidence shine. I am beautiful.

I plan to order several more shirts in the new ‘Life is’ series from Cents of Style. They are fun, comfortable and important messages. All the Life Is tshirts are on sale through Sunday 9/25 for only $15.95 each + free shipping with code LIFEIS. Order online now and embrace life.

Are you also too often behind the camera lens in your family photos?

I agree – we are behind the camera way too much as moms and need to jump in and let others take the shots without worry. PS: You look BEAUTIFUL!! Loving that gray and pink combo on you.

Yeo…we hide behind the lens too much…which is why I embraced the selfie movement so much. I have likeb2 pics of my mom as I was a kid. No candid)ucs with her in it at all. You kids will know I’ve as there and not perfect. Never perfect.
