4th of July Celebration (Seward, Nebraska)
Seward

Who knew that in the small town of Seward, Nebraska (pop. less than 10,000) you would find one of the Top 10 4th of July celebrations in the United States? My dad is originally from a small farm near Seward, so this where we’ve been celebrating the 4th of July annually since I as long as I can remember. Keeping with tradition, I’ll be there again this year with all three of my kids!

Just 30 minutes west of Lincoln there is a Grand Parade, craft show, bubble gum blowing & apple pie eating contests, musical entertainment, and a car show. However, the best part, of course, is the fireworks show! Check out the 10:00 show sponsored by TransCanada complete with singers and a parachute jump! Last year’s show was magnificent, but since they’re celebrating Seward’s 150th birthday this year, expect bigger and better!

Werner Park
Omaha

Nothing says America like baseball and fireworks! Since the 4th is on a Tuesday this year, Werner Park and the Omaha Storm Chasers baseball team will be having their yearly blast post-games on Sunday and Monday this year. Enjoy the game and a spectacular display presented by First National Bank of Omaha in the evening.

Nebraska Wind Symphony (St. Roberts, Chalco Hills)
Omaha

There are two chances to listen to some incredible music from the Nebraska Wind Symphony Swingtones Big Band and see some 4th of July Fireworks! On Sunday, July 2, enjoy the show at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, and on the 4th, listen and watch at Chalco Hills Recreation. Both performances start at 6pm and are followed by fireworks. Bring blankets and lawn chairs. The shows are free and open to the public.

Bank of the West Celebrates America (Memorial Park)
Omaha

This year’s celebration falls the Friday before the 4th, and you’ll be grooving before the blasts at this free fireworks show and concert. Listen to Kool & the Gang, Omaha favorites The Confidentials, and Emmett Bower Band before the firework extravaganza begins. Get your seats early at Memorial Park. There is plenty of room, but parking can be tough if you don’t plan. UNO parking garages and lots will be open at 4 p.m., and you can start saving your spot on the lawn at 5 a.m. on Friday. Food and beverages are available for purchase. You may bring your own, but alcohol and glass bottles are not allowed in the park.

TD Ameritrade Park
Omaha

Enjoy the College Home Run Derby with the home run leaders in college baseball for 2017. This event is televised live from Omaha on ESPN. After the derby, you’ll see the Omaha World-Herald’s 33rd annual fireworks display. This is one of Omaha’s premiere fireworks displays. You won’t want to miss the event on July 1!

Steinhart Park
Nebraska City

Nebraska City hosts a carnival for the 4th of July beginning on June 30. On July 1, fireworks by the Jaycees begin at dusk. You can even reserve a $10 seat at the Steinhart Aquatic Center to watch the show poolside and beat the heat. This is one family-friendly event in Nebraska you won’t want to miss.

Since the 4th of July is on a Tuesday this year, many fireworks shows are taking place throughout the week and weekend. You can take advantage of a few of these best places in Nebraska to see fireworks. Where will you celebrate the 4th?

Don’t forget about the Ralston parade and for a treat go to the Field Club parade at 10 am along 32nd – 36th and Woolworth. Decorated bikes, costumed dogs and people with a cookout after. Great time!!
