For me (Jayme), being the cook in our family has been an evolution. I got married at age 30, having spent my 20s living with roommates and living a typical-single-woman life. We’d cook meals together sometimes. Sometimes I would cook. Sometimes a roommate would. But we also ate out a lot. And we ate leftovers a lot. We’d eat at social or work functions. Just a combination of things.

When I got married, I suddenly felt responsible to be THE COOK in the house. Luckily, I had some basic skills even if I didn’t have a whole bunch of recipes in my tool belt. Things were trial and error. They went pretty well – there was maybe only a small handful of meals that we just flat out couldn’t eat (hello raw chicken!). Over the next few years, we added 4 sons to the mix and all of a sudden (it seemed!), cooking became more difficult.

  • My time was much more limited.
  • My ability to dedicate 2 hands to a meal was often hampered.
  • I had few brain cells left for experimenting in the kitchen.

I started to gravitate to tried-and-true recipes that fit my family, my grocery budget, my stress level and my desire to experiment. Now that my kids are a little older (mostly potty trained and no more bottles), I have a little bit more flexibility. But it hasn’t always been that way. And in the future, I’ll have even more as the boys age.

That’s where this cookbook and menu plan come in. It gives you the ability to use tried-and-true, family-friendly recipes and put things on auto-pilot. It’s six weeks, each with seven dinners. Make those six weeks and then repeat those six weeks. Use the shopping list provided so that you don’t have to think too much about what groceries you need for dinner. Use those brain cells for something else!

This is perfect for:

  • The beginning cook
  • The cook who doesn’t have much time
  • The cook who just wants to use their time differently
  • The cook who is tired of the same meals that they’ve been cooking for years
  • The cook who wants to automate their menu planning and their grocery shopping
  • YOU!

Congratulations on your new book! It looks awesome! Do you have plans to sell this book as a PDF or paperback? I don’t own a Kindle, so I have no way to download it or order it.

Hi Robyn! You can download the Kindle app on any device – phone, computer or tablet – and read Kindle books. We are talking about releasing a paperback, but it won’t be for at least a month. Thanks!
