We canceled cable years ago and rely on Netflix for our movies and TV shows. It is much cheaper than cable and we can always find something good to watch. My kids love picking out their favorite cartoons and I enjoy always having a good show or movie to watch whenever I want. When I was recovering from surgery last month, I watched alot of shows on my iPad in my bed.
Over the holidays and especially after our Thanksgiving meal, we watch several Christmas shows on Netflix to get us in the holiday spirit. The kids will watch Bah Humduck! A Looney Tunes Christmas and as a family we will watch Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
A few months ago, my husband and I discovered the original Netflix series, Orange is the New Black, and were instantly hooked. We watched the entire first series in a few weeks and are anxiously awaiting the release of season 2. This is one of our favorite shows on television.
I tried Curtis Stone’s original recipe, Red’s Orange White Russian, based on the show Orange is the New Black. These are simply too delicious! The heavy whipping cream takes the edge of the alcohol and there is a perfect hint of orange flavor. This drink is my new holiday favorite. Here’s the recipe:
Method:
1. Fill a rocks glass halfway with ice cubes. Add the Kahlua, vodka and Cointreau and gently stir to blend.
2. Pour the cream over so that it floats on top of the Kahlua mixture. Using a fine grater, grate some orange zest on top. Serve immediately.
