Green Bean Casserole. Let’s be honest, it’s not a fancy side dish, but it’s a staple. At least, it is at my Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner table.
Some families are loyal to canned cut green beans. Some families are loyal to the French style green beans. Some families are loyal to frozen or fresh green beans.
Classic Green Bean Casserole
Ingredients
- 1 can Condensed Cream of Mushroom Soup
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/8 tsp . black pepper
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- 4 cups cooked cut green beans (either 2 cans of green beans or 1 14 ounce bag of frozen)
- 1 1/3 cups FRENCH'S® Original or Cheddar French Fried Onions
Instructions
- If using frozen green beans, cook based upon package instructions.
- Combine soup, milk, pepper, soy sauce and 2/3 cup of the onions in a 1 1/2 -qt. baking dish.
- Bake for 30 minutes at 350 until hot. Stir.
- Top with remaining 2/3 cup onions. Bake 5 min. until onions are golden.
Notes
- ½ cup parmesan cheese
- 5-6 slices of cooked bacon, chopped
- A few handful of sliced mushrooms
Below is the classic recipe, but you also change it up a bit and add one of the following:
