Congrats #26 Christina

The Sleep Lady’s Good Night Sleep Tight by Kim West, LCSW-C with Joanne Kenen, revised edition January 12, 2010, Vanguard Press

About the book:
“Meet author, Kim West, known as The Sleep Lady, she is a nationally respected child and sleep expert. Having appeared on Dr. Phil, The Today Show, NBC Nightly News, and Good Morning America offering her expert advice to the masses. Her new Updated and Expanded book The Sleep Lady’s Good Night Sleep Tight with Joanne Kenen offers an effective approach to helping infants and young children learn to put themselves to sleep and tells parents everything they need to know about sleep, from newborns up through age five. It gives tips on breast feeding, night weaning older babies, scheduling meals and naps, and helping children discard the “sleep crutches” that make them wake during the night. “

My Review:
The Sleep Lady’s Good Night Sleep Tight is a great resource for parents of young children. Whether your child struggles with sleep or not, this book has lots of helpful information to ensure the best, most peaceful sleep for your child. I really like that she offers an effective and gentler alternative to the ‘cry it out’ method.

This book is comprehensive and offers lots of practical solutions to common infant and toddler issues. West addresses physiological as well as psychological needs of the child through every major developmental period to age five. I would recommend this book to any parent of a young child or infant.

This book gets at what keeps parents awake at night and gives them a good night’s sleep, too. I would use this as a gift because my kids grew up.
