My middle son is turning five in August and we love to have his friends and family over for a fun BBQ to celebrate. Last year we had an outdoor pool party with kiddie pools, a sprinkler and a slip ‘n slide. The kids had a blast!
This year, he wants a Scooby Doo themed birthday with a pinata and a Scooby Doo cake with gumballs and marshmallows. I have no idea how he came up with adding those goodies to his cake, but that’s what he wants.
I shopped Birthday in a Box for pinatas and found the perfect Scooby Doo shaped one for his party. I love that this has the pull strings in case we get rained out and have to bring the party inside (no bat swinging in the house.) The kit included a blindfold and a huge bag of candy to fill the pinata. I usually throw in a few bucks worth of pennies and nickels for the kids as well.
You can check out other pinatas and cute party ideas on Pinterest. They have a huge variety. Birthday in a Box also offers reasonably priced sets of themed birthday packages that include all the plates, forks, cup and decorations that you need to hold a kid’s party.
Overall, I am very pleased with the pinata and it shipped quickly. Now, how do a keep an almost five year from asking about his party every day? We have a whole month to go and he is so excited already.
