Citrus Mango Smoothie Recipe

There’s nothing quite like the taste of an ice cold smoothie on a hot summer day. But to be honest, even in these frigid winter months cravings can set in, and this delightful citrus mango smoothie has been on a regular rotation at our house. So thick and creamy, and yet light and refreshing…carrying the best parts of summer to your tastebuds!

We recently decided to invest in a high powered blender, and the smooth texture this thing kicks out is phenomenal. I had no idea what I was missing! We went from a smoothie “once in awhile” type of family to a smoothie “every single day” kind of family. And I have zero regrets. My family is eating way more fruits and veggies every day as a result, and who can complain about that?

How to Make a Citrus Mango Smoothie

This also only calls for 5 ingredients and comes together in a snap. You just add 2 cups of milk to your blender pitcher, 2 ripe bananas, 2 clementines, 2 cups of frozen mango, and 2 tablespoons of chia or flax seeds for some extra protein. You can also toss in a handful of spinach or kale to get an extra serving of veggies in there. I usually do, but didn’t this time around only because it’s not quite as aesthetically pleasing to photograph. Then just blend until smooth and portion out.

This recipe makes 2 large servings or 4 smaller ones. You can also easily haf the recipe if you don’t live in a house with ravenous small humans like me. You can also portion into popsicle molds for a tasty treat on a day where even pulling out the blender feels like too much.

My favorite thing about this recipe is the hint of citrus. I’ve made basic mango smoothies before and they’re still delicious, but the clementines just really send it over the edge on this one. My 6 year old took one slurp and declared me the smoothie queen…even placed an imaginary crown on my head. If that doesn’t convince you to try it, I’m not sure what will!
