I recently had major, unexpected plumbing issues at my house. The main sewer line backed up into our basement, but luckily, nothing inside our home was damaged. We called Aksarben Sewer & Drain Cleaning  and they sent a technician that day to clear the drain. He was professional and charged a fair price. He guaranteed his work, but said if it backs up again that a camera view of the pipes would be necessary. We’ve had our sewer snaked several times over the past three to four years and usually that takes care of the problem. Not this time.

Our sewer backed up again and of course, it happened on the weekend. Since we were already planning a staycation at CoCo Keys that weekend with the kids, we decided to wait until Monday morning for the camera inspection. Since we weren’t home to use any water, we weren’t worried about it flooding our basement again.

The technician from Aksarben Sewer & Drain Cleaning who did the camera inspection was great. He took his time and was very patient with my seven year old daughter who was fascinated with the television view of the inside of our pipes. He was also a Navy Veteran, like myself, so I had confidence in his work.  After working most of the day, he detected the exact location of blockage and determined the particular eight foot section or drain pipe that needed replaced. I figured we’d have to replace some of the pipes, since we’ve had so much trouble with the sewer line backing up over the last few years.

The details of the work that needed to be done was clearly stated on the paperwork and the cost was an exact figure that was very competitive with other local companies. Since we chose to go with Aksarben and Southside Plumbing for the repair the cost of the camera inspection was waived. It is a great relief when major plumbing work occurs to know exactly how much the charge will be for the work. This was a major job, but I was grateful it was only a small section of pipe that needed replaced in my yard.

The next morning, the crew showed up to dig up the dirt and place the new pipes. I felt horrible for them since they had to do this work in negative 2 degree weather, but they did not complain. By lunchtime, the new pipes were placed and the inspector came to check the work. The camera technician came to check the pipes and cleaned them from the new outdoor sewer drain access point. I am beyond happy that all the sewage work can now be done from outside my home, instead of in our basement bathroom. The technician continued to work and even water jetted the drain to ensure that all the waste flowed perfectly with the new pipes.

Overall, I am very pleased with the work Aksarben Sewer & Drain Cleaning and Southside Plumbing did in our home. They were very respectful, were upfront about any costs and communicated the problems very well. I really like that the plumbers work on an hourly wage and not commission, so they come to fix the problem and not up-sell you for other services. I would highly recommend Aksarben Sewer & Drain Cleaning and Southside Plumbing for any plumbing issues in the Omaha area and will continue to use them for any more plumbing issues we have (which hopefully will not happen any time soon.)
