Omaha Area FREE Halloween Events!

Halloween is so much fun and the Omaha area & surrounding communities have some amazing FREE events for families! Here is a huge list with over 40 events coming in October. Note, some of the programs you must preregister, so make sure to do that early if you plan to attend. If you have another free event to include, please click ‘contact’ and let me know.

Saturday, October 8
Hummel Harvest Pumpkin Days – 10am-2pm, Crafts and fun activities, hayrack rides to the pumpkin patch from 10am-12pm (Note – pumpkins are $2.00).
Haunt Fair at Nobbies – 11am-3pm, crafts, bounce house, carnival games, balloon artists and costumed characters. Dog-friendly event. Two Metro locations (Twin Creek in Bellevue and Bel Air plaza in Omaha).
Witch’s Tea at Mangelsen’s – 11am-3pm, Halloween crafts and games, costume contest at 1pm.
Get Crafty: Tabletop Haunted House at Florence Omaha Public Library – 2pm-3pm, teens and adults, create tabletop Halloween decor. Registration required.

Thursday, October 13
Florence Omaha Public Library The Haunted Library- 430pm-630pm Teen program. Participants will use their critical thinking skills to uncover clues and solve riddles to escape the haunted library. Registration required.

Friday, October 14
Spooktacular at Council Bluffs Public Library – 6pm-730pm, ages 4-6th grade, wear a costume and join an evening of spooktacular fun.

Saturday, October 15
Hummel Harvest Pumpkin Days – 10am-2pm, Crafts and fun activities, hayrack rides to the pumpkin patch from 10am-12pm (Note – pumpkins are $2.00).

Monday, October 17
Zombie Make and Take at Council Bluffs Public Library – 330pm-430pm, teen event, make a zombie plushie from the dead with a pile of felt, beads, and one simple stitch.

Thursday, October 20
Omaha Children’s Museum Healthy Trick or Treat Night – 530pm-730pm, collect healthy treats at various stations, get your pictures taken with characters and have a fun night at the museum. Admission is free with membership.
Halloween Safe Night at Papillion-LaVista South High School – 6pm-8pm, games, prizes, costume contest, bounce houses and activities. Canned food donations accepted.

Friday, October 21
Trick or Treat at Nebraska Furniture Mart – 5pm-8pm, Candy, games, treats & activities.
Halloween Spooktakular at Westwood Plaza – 6pm-8pm, trick or treating, princess & super hero meet and greet and balloon animals

Saturday, October 22
Omaha’s Great Pumpkin at Village Pointe Shopping Center – 10am-2pm, pumpkin carving, Halloween games and tree lighting at 7pm.

Halloween Fun Fest at W. Dale Clark Omaha Public Library – 1030am-1230pm, storytime, arts & crafts, treats and trick-or-treating in the library.
Trick or Treat/Fall Festival at local Hy-Vee’s – 1pm-3pm Decorate a cookie and design a pumpkin. Additional activities vary by location, so check your local Hy-Vee facebook page for more details.
Trunk or Treat at Camelot Community Center – 5pm-630pm, games, snacks and surprises.

Monday, October 24
Random Fandom: Goosebumps at Council Bluffs Public Library – 330pm-430pm, teen event, Join us for a terrifying tribute to the master of all things dreadful, R. L. Stine. Put your fears to the test in this pre-Halloween creep-out.
Storybook Walk at Southwind Park in LaVista – 430pm-6pm, storytime and prizes.
Touch a Truck Trick-or-Treat at Quaker, Steak & Lube – 5pm-8pm, explore vehicles, sit in the driver’s seat and trick-or-treat
Pumpkin Party Night! at Chic-Fil-A on 76th & Dodge – 5pm-8pm, 1st 100 kids, ages 12 and under, will get pie size pumpkin to decorate

Tuesday, October 25
Haunted Gingerbread House for Teens at A.V. Sorenson Omaha Public Library – 430pm-530pm, teens create a haunted gingerbread house. Registration required.
Monster Mash at Montclair Community Center – 530pm-730pm, trick-or-treating, activities and snacks.

Wednesday, October 26
Trick-Or-Treat at Council Bluffs Public Library – 1030am-11am, ages 5 and younger, trick-or-treat in the library.
Tiny Tot Halloween Party at Sorensen Community Center – 1030am-12pm – story time, games, bounce house and crafts.
Preschool Halloween Party at A.V. Sorenson Branch Omaha Public Library – 1030am-12pm, stories, songs, craft, bounce house and candy.
Trunk or Treat at St Pauls Episcopal Church (Council Bluffs) – 6pm-7pm, trunk or treat in the St Paul’s parking lot
Florence Omaha Public Library Halloween Spooktacular – 630pm-8pm, Story time at 6:30 pm in the Library Meeting Room. Then visit the Senior Center for a game of Halloween Bingo. Trek over to the Community Center Gym for crafts, games, snacks, and treats. Registration required.

Thursday, October 27
The Amazing Pizza Machine trunk or treat – 5pm-7pm, trick-or-treating event in parking lot
Omaha Children’s Museum Healthy Trick or Treat Night – 530pm-730pm, collect healthy treats at various stations, get your pictures taken with characters and have a fun night at the museum. Admission is free with membership.
Beast Trick or Treat at Bellevue East High School – 530pm-7pm, games, activities and open house trick or treating. Event is free, but they are asking for a Food Bank donation from each child.
Boo Bash at Adams Park Community Center – 6pm-8pm, costume contest, haunted maze and games.
Sweet Treat Night 2016 at Ralston High School- 6pm-730pm, games and activites
Sorensen Omaha Public Library Halloween Costume Party with a Vampire – 630pm-730pm, Play games, read a story and dance with the vampire, Draculaura.

Friday, October 28
Halloween Party at LaVista Public Libary – 10 am, ages 5 and younger, Halloween books, songs and a costume parade.
Baseballoween at Werner Park – 5pm-830pm, trick-or-treating, featured film and Halloween fireworks.
Halloween Teen Lock-in at Charles B. Washington Omaha Public Library – 6pm-930pm, teens, watch a horror film with food, snacks and soda. Costume contest. 30 kid limit & registration required.
Halloween Teen Lock-in at Benson Omaha Public Library – 6pm-9pm, teens ages 13-18, pizza, games and contest. Registration required.

Saturday, October 29
Halloween Spooktacular at Saddlebrook Omaha Public Library – 1030am-12pm, crafts, refreshments, games, music and trick-or-treating.
Boo Bash at Benson Community Center – 1030am-1pm, games, bounce house and treats.
UNO Mav Kids Halloween and Health Fair – 11am-2pm, Games, photobooth, health fair vendors, door prizes and trick-or-treat bags. Wildlife Encounters will have a stage show atAccepting Food Bank donations.
Whole Kids Halloween at Whole Foods – 12pm-3pm, trick-or-treating, treats and sample station.
Trick-or-Treat at Regency Courte – 1pm-3pm, trick-or-treat Regency Courte businesses
Trick and Treat Party at Council Bluffs Public Library – 130pm-230pm
Trunk or Treat at Crossroads Church – 2pm-4pm
Halloween Magic Show at Bellevue Public Library – 230pm-4pm, magic show at 3pm, cookies and mystery punch.

Sunday, October 30
Halloween Hoopla at Shadowlake Towne Center – 1pm-3pm, free hayrack rides and trick or treating
Old Market Fall Festival – 1pm-4pm, trick-or-treat in downtown Omaha, free books at the book bus and more
Old Towne Bellevue Halloween Bash – 430pm-630pm, Join 50+ participating businesses for trick or treating in Old Towne Bellevue.
Trunk or Treat at Messiah Lutheran Church in Ralston – 6pm-9pm, Trunk or treat and games

Monday, October 31
Halloween Out and About Storytime at Marquis Place Nursing Home – 10am-11am, Join Elkhorn branch library for storytime at the nursing home. Trick-or-treating with patrons after storytime.
Make a Mask Party at Council Bluffs Public Library – 330pm-430pm, teen event, make a mask
Tech or Treat at DoSpace – 330pm-630pm, goodie bags and props for pictures
Halloween Party at Sherman Community Center – 430pm-630pm, games and refreshments.
Halloween Safe Night at LaVista Community Center – 530-7pm, trick-or-treating, hayrack rides, spooky tent and free hot dogs.
