Quick and Easy BLT Ranch Salad Recipe

So you’re sitting at home, and dinnertime is fast approaching, but you don’t really have a plan and you’re tired. Enter this BLT Ranch Salad to the rescue! Taking your favorite bacon, lettuce, and tomato sandwich and putting it in a bowl makes for an easy crowd pleaser! Especially if you cook your bacon in the oven, which is a total game changer if you haven’t tried it. Crisp lettuce, juicy tomatoes, savory bacon, and creamy ranch. Four ingredients is all you need for a delicious, super convenient dinner that takes less than 10 minutes to prepare.

Romaine lettuce with diced bacon, grape tomatoes and ranch dressing in a white bowl.

Not sure about you, but BLT’s are a favorite sandwich at our place, and have been a treasured easy meal for years now. It’s a total fan favorite! Unfortunately some of us had to go gluten-free recently, and gluten-free bread is a heckuva lot more expensive than the bread we previously bought, and thus far I haven’t really found any that don’t taste particularly dry to me. It definitely made the meal a bit less appealing and economical. So tossing the ingredients in a bowl for a salad ended up being such a great way to still be able to enjoy my favorite meal, and as an added bonus my kids like it equally as much as the sandwich. No bread? No problem!

How to Make a BLT Ranch Salad

To make this salad, you can use a garden mix, or chop up some romaine (which is what we prefer). I like using grape tomatoes, and you can use them whole or dice them like we do since my kids like their tomatoes in small doses. Add your cooked bacon, and then top with ranch dressing. You can use this homemade ranch dressing or store bought, whichever you prefer.

I have found that it works best to assemble this salad by the individual bowl, rather than all at once. That way you don’t end up with leftovers that will just get limp and soggy in the fridge. Not sure about you, but I can’t eat leftover salad if it’s already been topped with dressing…just really unappealing. Feel free to add some avocado for some extra creaminess and flavor if desired. Then serve and enjoy!
